About Us
Shellfish Ireland have been catching and supplying Irish Shellfish to their customers since 1987. Located in Castletownbere, a small fishing village in West Cork, Shellfish Ireland now employ over 150 people in their advanced production facility. The factory has full traceability from catch to customer providing assurance to their customers that the seafood products they purchase are fully traceable and of premium quality.
Sustainability
Our fishermen use pots as their fishing method. This fishing method has low environmental impact and contributes to long term sustainability of the crab stock. This method also allows for the return of small crab, so they continue to grow for the future. Shellfish Ireland are members of the Irish Brown Crab Fisheries Improvement (FIP) to support the long-term sustainability of the Fishery
